Calhoun Community College is currently offering 2 options for the Healthcare Programs.
The 50-hour EKG Technician Certification Program prepares students to function as EKG Technicians. This course will include important practice and background information on anatomy and physiology, medical disease processes, medical terminology, medical ethics, legal aspects of patient contact, electrocardiography, and stress testing. Additionally, students will practice with EKG equipment and perform hands-on labs including introduction to the function and proper use of the EKG machine, the normal anatomy of the chest wall for proper lead placement, 12-lead placement, and other clinical practices.
Option #1 – Self-directed online classes
Students may start the self-directed online class at any time and have full access to the website. E Textbooks are included in the fee. Students have up to 6 months to complete the program. No on-campus attendance is required for this program.
Cost is $1,299 (includes e-textbooks)
There are no refunds offered for the Self-directed, On Line Program.
Option #2 – Traditional, In-person Class on Campus
The program will be held in person on Calhoun Community College’s campus with live instruction. Class size is limited to 20 participants.
Note: Upon successful completion of the program, students may sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) National certification exam.

- Dates: June 26 – August 14, 2025
- Days: Tuesday and Thursday nights
- Times: 6:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
- Location: Huntsville Campus
- Cost: $999 (textbooks included)
- The program fee does not include the cost of the NHA EKG Technician National Certification Exam – $129
- NHA EKG Technician National certification exam is proctored at your local PSI testing site
