Program Status

Calhoun Community College has been granted permission by the Alabama Commission on Higher Education to offer an educational degree in respiratory care.  Dedicated classroom and laboratory spaces will be constructed on the Huntsville-Research Park Site.  The program is in the process of seeking accreditation for a respiratory care program.  Once provisional accreditation has been granted, students can begin RPT classes.  Target date for enrollment of the initial class of students is fall semester 2025,  However, Calhoun Community College can provide no assurance that accreditation will be granted.

The respiratory therapist program at Calhoun Community College will meet the state education requirements for respiratory therapist licensure in the state of Alabama. Calhoun Community College has not determined if the RT program at Calhoun Community College will meet the state education requirements in any other state, any U.S. Territory, or the District of Columbia.
