Calhoun Community College is excited to announce it will now offer a Career Development Scholarship to help support the vision of “success for every student”. These scholarship funds will help students who are preparing for direct entry into the job market through our Career and Technical programs. If you are enrolled in an eligible program of study listed below, you could receive a scholarship at Calhoun Community College to assist with tuition and fees in the Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 semesters! The priority deadline to complete the steps required for consideration is February 1, 2023. Funds will be awarded as applications are completed and reviewed until funding is exhausted. Award amounts will vary and will be applicable toward tuition and fees only.

Eligibility:

Have a completed Admissions Application on file

Accepted into an eligible program of study for Fall 2023

Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA

Completed 2023-2024 FAFSA (School Code: 001013)

Must be a U.S. citizen

Completed Scholarship Application with a required course of study

Students must be enrolled in credit-bearing courses toward an Associate of Applied Science degree or a Certificate program in one of the following divisions:

  • Design Drafting
  • Aerospace Technology
  • Air Conditioning & Refrigeration
  • Automotive Technology
  • Child Development
  • Computer Information Systems
  • Criminal Justice
  • Dental Assisting
  • Dental Hygiene
  • Electrical Technology

  • Machine Tool Technology
  • Medical Laboratory Technician
  • Music Technology
  • Nursing
  • Paramedic
  • Physical Therapist Assistant

How to be Considered

The criteria for this scholarship is determined by departmental Deans in conjunction with the Scholarship Advisory Committee. Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis and are not guaranteed based on minimum eligibility requirements. Awardees are selected based on a completed scholarship application and combination of ACT composite score, cumulative grade point average, technical promise within their program of study, involvement in clubs and organizations, volunteer experience, and financial need.

Notification of Award:

All correspondence from the Scholarship Office is sent to the student’s @593c18ac56.nxcli.net email address. Applicants should have a working knowledge of how to check this email and should attend to it regularly. It is best practice to check clutter, junk, and spam folders to avoid missing important information.If selected for a scholarship, the student will have two weeks to accept the offer and to complete the post-acceptance agreement. Failure to do so will result in revocation of the award offer.
